The Association's forerunners began in the Okanagan Mission in December 1907. The first meeting was held in the home of W.D. Walker. W.D. Hobson was elected as the first president. The name chosen was the Okanagan Sports Club and committees struck to look after cricket, football and tennis. An acre of land was obtained where the hall now stands.
In 1937, when the roof of the Grower's Exchange Packing House collapsed, it was decided a hall should be built. On May 14, 1937 a Young People's Group presented three plays to raise funds for the newly dubbed Coronation Hall, and in June of the same year OMCHA was founded as a society. On January 21, 1938 the Hall was officially opened with a dance with nearly 300 people in attendance. They danced to the orchestra of Charles Penman.
In 1958 a second hall was built, the Scout Hall. The Ladies Auxiliary was established in 1954. Renewal Projects were undertaken by local residents in the Centennial year and again in 1987-88. In 2009 new oxblood coloured siding was installed on the Hall exterior, reflecting the heritage "red barn" colour scheme.
